Margaret Gorog
Houghton Cascade Holdings, LLC

Originally from the Vancouver area in Canada, she received a Bachelor of Applied Science in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of British Columbia. She has worked for Weyerhaeuser, International Paper and is now with Houghton Cascade Holdings, LLC which is based in Lynden, WA. She has provided materials engineering support to the pulp and paper industry for 35 years covering corrosion control, materials selection, inspection, welding and failure analysis. Areas of interest include continuous digester corrosion and cracking, duplex stainless steels and fixed equipment mechanical integrity. Participating in mill maintenance outages has been a major focus throughout her career. She is very active in TAPPI and advanced through all the positions in the Corrosion & Materials Committee and Engineering Division. In 2016 she was the TAPPI PEERS conference chair. She is a TAPPI Fellow and the TIP Coordinator for the Plant Engineering and Project Management Committee. Having finished 100 marathons, she has retired from long distance running and is now a coach with Girls on the Run, a national program for 3rd to 5th grade girls that consists of confidence building and physical activity, and ends with a celebratory 5k event.

 

Heather Jennings
Huma Environmental®

Heather Jennings is the Director of Huma Environmental® and a licensed Civil Engineer with 23 years of experience in project management, environmental programs, and systems analysis for industrial and municipal facilities. She specializes in municipal and industrial water and wastewater system design.

Since joining TAPPI in 2015, Heather has actively contributed to the organization, serving in various leadership roles, including Chair of the Women in Industry Division, Chair of the WIN Committee, and a member of the Environmental Sustainability Working Group and Exhibitor Liaison. As part of these roles, she develops technical content for TAPPI’s annual conferences, including TAPPICON and PEERS.

At Huma Environmental®, Heather oversees sales, research, and development efforts for wastewater treatment products and services. She is a published author in industry journals, a frequent conference speaker, certification trainer and the host of the Water Break podcast. Heather holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Brigham Young University.
