Industry Experts Bring Decades of Experience to TAPPI’s Introduction to Kraft Pulping and Bleaching Course

Meet the Instructors
Dr. Michael Kocurek is Professor Emeritus of Paper Science and Engineering at North Carolina State University and one of the world’s most recognized educators in the field. Throughout his career, Dr. Kocurek has taught thousands of industry professionals at more than 200 mills and 50 organizations, including TAPPI, the U.S. Department of Energy, the EPA, and AF&PA. His teaching focuses on pulp and paper technology, linerboard and tissue manufacturing, paper properties, and workforce development.

Tom Holm, owner of Yggdrasil Pulp Consulting LLC, is a global consultant with extensive field experience. Formerly a subject-matter expert with Buckman International, he has worked with mills in 19 countries, providing guidance on process analysis, capital justification, and operational improvement. He has presented for TAPPI, Pulp and Paper Canada, ABTCP, and other international pulp and paper forums, and is widely known for his clear, practical instruction.
