TAPPI is pleased to partner with Western Michigan University (WMU) to deliver training that will help you broaden and update your knowledge and understanding of the basics of recycled fiber collection, processing, use and market drivers. This is a 2.5-day course takes place in Kalamazoo Michigan on WMU's Engineering Campus. This training is designed for the newcomer to the paper recycling industry, as well as those with experience.

This training explores the converting processes of rolled products and how the quality and variability of tissue parent jumbo reels and soft rolls impact the runnability of these complex lines.

This course provides a solid foundation in the development and application of aqueous-based barrier coatings for paper and paperboard packaging. Through a practical, hands-on approach, participants will gain a clear understandingof the chemistry, application techniques, and performance attributes of these environmentally friendly coatings

This hands-on analytical introductory workshop is appropriate for technical and non-technical individuals with a desire for training in sustainability and life cycle analysis (LCA) to assess and compare the environmental impact of alternative products. The course will provide the basic background and theory of environmental life cycle analysis and sustainability through lectures. Moreover, instructors will teach and train participants in an open-sourced software to conduct environmental analysis.

The Basic Financial Training & Strategic Market Analysis workshop is appropriate for technical and non-technical individuals in the pulp & paper, forest product, and related industries with a desire to evaluate processes, services, and research ideas. This workshop will help you to market your ideas, products, and services utilizing the financial language used by decision-makers in the industry (controllers, directors, mill managers, and vice-presidents).
